Eligibility
All business licenses can be renewed online. Courtesy renewal notices are emailed prior to the expiration of your business license. Look for a PIN in the email. Please contact us at BLRenewal@cityofsanrafael.org if you have any questions about this process.

Note: If there has been a change of ownership, or if the business has changed addresses within city limits, you must submit a new application rather than renewing online. Forms are available on our website.

For renewals based on the current period's gross receipts or administrative expenses, we generally recommend waiting until the beginning of the next license period to renew.

Process
After completing the online renewal process, please allow up to 2 business days to receive an email indicating whether your submission was approved.
